No streaky or dull printouts from the pre-filled aftermarkets from Staples or Office Max here. Makes you wonder if the person who wrote the article is all thumbs

I just bought a MP760 and MP780. So far they have been trouble-free. I like the separate Black cartridge for normal document printing and a separate dye black for color printing.

WRT the fax issue, I looked through the MP780 manual and couldn't find any reference to receiving a fax as an image.

COSTCO has good prices on ink cartridges.

When it comes to replacement ink, HP's are most forgiving and Epson the least.

HP usually has the printhead in the cartridge so if it clogs you can ditch it....

Epson with it's piezoelectro printheads are extremely sensitive to quality of the ink, (that they eject the ink droplets by heat has probably something to do with it )

In any case if you only print once a week or less, stay with the originals (much less problems with cloging) .
If you on the other hand prints ton of stuff its usually safe to use replacement ink, just keep a keen eye on the inkhead receptible in the printer, if that fouls up (whatever ink you use) your SOL
