opterons are supposed to overclock very well.. and they all come with the 1MB Cache/Core .. would be my first choice if I was to get a new rig now

Optionally. Are you asking about 2x Single Core Opteron vs. 1x Dual Core Opteron?

The Opteron 1xx's are good value for money if you can track one down

Dunno how far I can overclock. Just tried overclocking my AMD 4000+ and it didn't go very far. Managed too get it as far as 2520 but it didn't want to know after that despite upping voltages and making sure pci bus was locked at 33.33 mhz. Left the ram at default.

I can track Opertons down but the best price is at Scan.co.uk and I won't shop there period.
End of this week I'll be chasing up my Motherboard replacement. They still haven't sorted that out.

What about 2xdual core Opteron 275's

Best of both worlds!!! But then of course you will need a workstation class motherboard etc.

              Cheers,

Well a bit of messing around and nope it isn't a great overclocker. Most I can get is 210 on the bus messing around with HTT doesn't help neither does the voltages. Bum.
