What software is recomended for converting an unprotected DVD(was recorded on a camcorder) to a video file?

Maybe an XVID MP4 since that is already installed on all likely machines.

I'm pretty sure that uLead video studio can use DVDs as source material as long as they are not encrypted.

Unless you have linux , then use cinerella, It is great for making H264 stuff.

Very nice. Though I'd like to be able to resize the video. But then I guess I can learn the individual programs that it installs. Note to self. Do not compress a 7GB stream when you need to use your machine.

With VirtualDub, this (and many, many other things) should be possible.

Seems to be an issue in some parts of the DVD with multiple "PGCs" Sometimes it is barely noticable but other times it is very annoying. The audio will fall out of sync.
