    Playstation Mag Editor Won't Pay $600 For A PS3

    Playstation Mag Editor Won't Pay $600 For A PS3

In the latest public blow against Sony's upcoming Playstation 3 console, the editor of the US Official Playstation Magazine, Dana Jongewaard, has admitted in her official blog that she won't be buying a PS3 on launch day thanks to the $600 price, the lack of solid launch titles and the fact that she doesn't have the need for a Blu-Ray movie disk player and hints that her money will be going to a new Xbox 360 instead. Here is a snip:
So ultimately, I can't justify it. $600 is a lot of money, especially when I can get what--for me at least--will be a very similar experience for $400. I would like to own a PS3, and I hope that the price drops soon so I can consider it. But until then, this Official PlayStation Magazine editor will have to join the dark side.

And their first Blu-Ray drive won't play BD movies.

Sony's PR department is having one helluva week

You mean she won't be getting a free one?

I think that if there was a chance that she would, it's gone.

Damn you beat me to it. I think this SHOULD get her a free PS3 or Sony's going to never this one down.

The PS3 = the "Ishtar" of Sony.

Microsoft should send her a free XBOX 360.

They may just do that. They have a history of doing very similar (and equally mediagenic) acts when opportunities present themselves. It would be hard to resist using this as a PR Stunt.

Maybe that's why she said it
