Video capture question on Marvel

I like to know if the Marvel Video card can capture video and compress the data into mpeg format directly and in real time?

The video capture card I am using now Hauag tv/capture card can only capture video in Avi(huge file 2gig/15minute), not to mention it will take forever on xzmeg encoder to compress that avi into mpeg!! My system is fairly up to date with p2-450/192meg!

So can somebody please answer me
