Dual screen maximizing on a single wide screen?

I've been using a dual and tripple screen setup for around 10 years now and I've just recently switched to a single wide screen setup. The one thing that I really miss is the ability to maximize a window in the screen that it is currently living in. Is there a program that will allow me to be able to maximize to the left half or the right half of a single screen as if each half was a separate monitor?
