I'm having the same issue. They must be doing something, or blocking that download since it will likely be the more popular one.

I'm getting 3.2 MB/s (work) for the 64-bit version, but merely 220 KB/s for the 32-bit. Dunno if I'll run into the same stopped download issue.

edit: 32 bit download stopped at 96.3 MB... retried and now it is going faster... (cross fingers)

      Thanks!!!!

isn't this build the same one that leaked before new year? (build 7000).

In that case, just download that one through bittorrent; as for the keys: I've obtained one from their website, but appearantly they're handing out lots of duplicates. MS either has a very small set of test keys, or they are now handing out the same set of keys because of the web rush?

I installed the 64 bit version and it is build 7000...install went without a hitch. I did notice that my HDD led light on my case stays on all the time(..WTF!) but the hard drive is not accessing as the light would indicate.

other than that it seems OK so far! and I think I will upgrade to it on the Final release!

i did not have to put in a product key, and it is activated(...it says that it is optional)

Same here, tried the 32bit one because the new System isn't all here yet. And getting the same as you guys, all cutting between 90MB and 290MB in file size. Annoying.

You can get the keys for both the 64 and 32 bit versions following this method:

                http://www.neowin.net/news/main/09/0...ows-7-beta-key

I'm running Windows 7 on my tablet X41 thinkpad and its actually running better than XP did. With XP if I tried to Pandora (IE, Firefox or Openpandora) and run sound through my Sound Blaster X-Fi 5.1 USB (optical out to Logitech Z-5500's) the sound would skip and be unuseable. With Windows 7 not only did it play I could install programs at the same time. Not shabby for a Beta.

For a point of comparison I HATED Vista when it first came out. Ran it for two months on my work laptop and went back to XP with pleasure. My main home system is running Vista SP1 x64 and it's been one of the smoothest systems I've used.

Not a fan of the marketing or licensing fun that MS comes up with but they are slowly learning.

Is that key on Neowins site complete? It only has 3 groupings of 5

Just go to the first link I provided and register, you will get your official key that way. That's what i did, I don't trust any other site for keys.

                      Regards,
                      Elie

Wow, that was the longest update I've run since ... Windows 2000? I swear it took over three hours to upgrade from Vista SP1 to Win7 Beta. At least it worked this time.

I have a removeable boot drive setup...I plugged in my 32 bit version of vista disk and blew it away and did a fresh install of 64 bit Win7. Took roughly an hour.

MS did fix that 32 bit version of Win7 later in the day yesterday

Odd... if i go here and refresh, i can get as many product keys as i like... i wonder if it is because I am signed into Windows Live????

I seen the same thing, I printed 4 keys for 32 and 64 bit and I also used windows live after I verified ownership of my hotmail account.
