A vote for MPC-HC, mainly because it has DXVA support (video decoding using gpu) and also has codecs built in.Comment

Thank you all. I have been using WMP and DirectVobSub to view subtitles, but recently I came across a couple of movies that would not play if DirectVobSub was in use. If the sub file was in the same folder with the movie the DivX file type in WMP will keep getting disactivated. Media Player Classic is not affected.
The reason that I have mentioned Kantaris is that it does not require installation. However it is very poor on file types.Last edited by Debbie; 13 October 2010, 22:35.We pass this way only once. Make the most of it !Comment

When I tested it (half a year ago or so), VLC didn't work out of the box with DXVA on an ION platform. MPC-HC did... Good to hear that is should have improved now...

I'm haveng problems with highlighting in VLC. The highlight color changes to grey on the right of the screen. Perhaps I'm missing some setting ?We pass this way only once. Make the most of it !Comment
