    LOL, never even heard of a Flip Camera. But are they serious when they say it's possible to capture good video with smartphones? I'm sure one can get many pixels but the lenses must still suck, no?

      Flip cameras weren't that bad, they were cheap and did 720p iirc.
      Plug in and upload to Youtube directly, or save to disk.

        iPhone 4 does HD video rather well, and some of the Android phones are even better. Not camcorder good to be sure, but not too shabby for snapshot video. Also, no need to plug them in to upload video - just upload via 3/4G or better yet park in McDonalds etc. lot & use their wifi.

          If you see the flip camera, it looks quite similar to a mobile phone. So while I agree with you that the quality of a mobile phone video is still not up to par with a decent (video)camera and lacks features, it may well be up to par with the Flip...
