Thanks for the heads up, Paul! That link did not quite work for me, but I think that this one gets you there.

This is probably due to the frames and other crap going on Aureal's web page. I'll try not go on my web designer guideline soap box too much, but I hate frames and I hate javascript. If you want me to visit your page, you will make it accessible without javascript. If you want me to email or post the URL of a cool web page, I hope that you don't have frames because it is impossible to copy the URL of a framed web page so the next guy sees what I see. OK, end of rant.

I had some serious troubles with this drivers.
I oewn a Xitel storm platinum.
Direct dound 3d did not work when acceleration was set above one notch (basic acceleration).
Direc music did not want to work.
I had slowdowns in games using A3D.
Sound stuttered siverely in almost all the games i tried.
          Including Q3A , UT , Half-Life.

This all happened after a clean Windows 98 reinstall.
          No sharing no conflicts!
I went back to the 2040 drivers and all the probs was gone.
I think is has something to do with the Aureal wave dll and vxd.

Just thaught you would like to know
Any such thing happen to any one else yet?
You all may think this is not important.
BUT IT IS AMATTER OF LIFE AND DEATH!

Yup, the Vortex drivers are for the cards themselves. The A3D drivers have been updated. Next set of drivers for the cards should contain the updated A3D files.

            Does that help?

G7, did you have problems with the 2041 Vortex upgrade or the 3.1 A3D upgrade?

You can stick with 2040 and still upgrade the A3D feature.

I find the beta of 2048 pretty good, it's as stable as the earlier versions for me, well, not any more unstable at any rate. I still want to be able to try different hrtfs though. Nice speed up for 3D-Now! systems, makes games a tad smoother.
