    CdR to a DVD?

I read some were that a few cdr's could now write to DVDs with a new Driver/Bios update.(not a DVD Writer) If so what brands or models are able to do this?

    Thanks

As far as I know, the two systems use different lasers and writing to a DVD disk in DVD format is not possible for a CDR.

Sorry, not possible. Different frequency lasers. There's even three different DVD frequencies. (Commercial made, home made, and RW)
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

There are DVD/CDR combo's. One is made by Ricoh. But really don't recommend them because they are slower than independent drives.
