    full screen question

I have an old 21 sony monitor and it recognizes only 1280/1024. Any other resolution gives me blue screen, of course.
The question is that i can force/tweak some games to start in a window instead full screen.

Is that blue screen as in Blue Screen of Death (fatal exception or the like)?
If it is, your monitor is not at fault, something else is.

Otherwise, you can sometimes specify on the command line to run games in a window, check the readme for the individual game as the switch varies. Performance in a window tends to be bad though.

If you've got HalfLife, you could try
'HL -win' (no quotes) for windowed mode (adding -w 640 will set the window size to 640x480, -w 800 sets 800x600 etc), but thats the only one I can remember (I'm at work, so I don't have any games to try it out on right now:P)

          tks Raptor!

          My monitor has this problem.
Could not display any resolution but 1280/1024.
I have also another monitor that could help me to set the game and switch between (CTX 711 PRT) but takes too long.
Your idea with command line is new for me. You have any example for a simple test?
