i need help on what kindda hardware should i get...please please read

Hello Guys,
Well, im wanting to buy a new hardware specifically a Pinnacle System for video editing...i would like to hear from you what is suitable for my needs... thanks in advance and happy editing.
This is my need in a Video Editing Hardware:
1. I want my hardware to capture from TV and i can make a mpg,avi or DVD format.
2. I want my hardware that can make a dupe of DVD (DVD to DVD) <-- dont know if this is possible but if it is...i sure what it
3. i want a hardware that can capture scenes from a VCD or DVD and i can edit it and make a movie of my own

guys i would really appreciate all your suggestions thank you and have a fun filled day ahead!

For DVD authoring I recommend the RT2000 from Matrox ...

It comes bundled with DVDIt! and supports native DV & MPEG2 datastreams in hardware, you'd only need a DVD burner.

Sorry, but I have no clue about Pinnacle systems.

For DVD to DVD you need a DVD RAM, I have the Toshiba one (SD-11 or something, Im at work now, so cant check the numbers).

Its quite good, but blank DVD-R disks are about NZ$80, and you can buy most movies on DVD for about NZ$40, so its not realy worth it.

The best thing about DVD-RAM is that it does a verify whenever you write to it. What that means is that if you are backing up your digital photos or something, it will write the file, then read it again, and check it against the origional. If its not right, it will copy it again.

When I use to back up onto CD-R I was getting the odd picture with nastie green lines across it. None of that now!
