    Win2K startup

ICQ always starts up when Win2K boots. I don't see it anywhere in Run in the registry or the Startup menu (I checked All Users and my account). My friend had a similar problem with Winamp starting up, but he runs Win98. It was not found in Startup or in the registry. Anyone know how to solve this?

    Yes.

Goto Control Panel/administrative tools/computer management/system tools/software environment/startup programs. Everything listed there will have a description of where the startup originates, ICQ gets its startup in the registry, and you will see the location of where you can find ICQ in the registry.

Here is a screenshot of where, in my registry, where the startup for ICQ is.

Got it. I was looking in the wrong place in the Registry, thanks for the help.

No problem. You can find out just about anything in the computer management module, just poke around long enough, and you should find what you are looking for.
