Computer problem

i have a problem here , my computer reboots for no reason ..

first tought i had was that my power supply wasn't strong enough for all the things i had in my computer....

then i tought maybe via drivers are the problem since via is too stupid to provide a version checking tool ( go figure ) i think i have 28a

if you can just help me with this information , if you need more i'll post more .. thank you

Is your system overclocked, or overheating ?
It could be your PSU, but it could be many other things too.

I have to agree with the post above.
If I ever encounter a machine re-booting for no reason I nearly always suspect a heating problem.
Try running it with the case off for a while and see if that helps.
Even better take the case off and point a desk fan into your system.

When does it reboot striaght after post or when Windows is trying to start or when windoze has been running for a bit???
If it's striaght after post could be a dicky perhiperal card or a scrambled bios. If it's loading Windows it can be a conflict or a faulty device driver or perhiperal. If it's a after a long period of use it can be overheating or if's when you launch a particular program it can be a corrupt installation or possibly dodgy memory.

And if you have Windows 2000 and your PC reboots our of nowhere, that means you got a bluescreen... well, if you had Windows 98 it would have been a bluescreen, but in 2K you just reboot.

I've just run into a situation @ work where the vendor installed used an clone/ghost image to set up the computer.

The computer would randomly freeze, especially when installing applications.

Your best bet - back up your important data and re-install windows.
