    Win 2K help

    Recently my Win2K dead prior to faulty mobo. I then replaced with new and different brand mobo. Anyway to autodetect all the new hardware setting and get it start up? Need help.

    try pressing F8 at the boot menu and selecting safe mode. remove hardware dependant software(drivers) and motherboard resources in device manager...then reboot normally and see what happens!!!

      Well, I been trying to log in for safe mode for many times but the system halt halfway and i assumed it won't boot. Any experienced it would boot for an hour or more?

        If it won't run in safe mode you are likely experiencing chipset/controller woes. Not likely you'll get it working without a reinstall. Sorry.

        P.S. You can install over itself though. Less work (although a bit messier).
