    Excel File Won't With Explorer

A daughter of my friend brought an Excel file home to work with. Her PC at home and work both have Win95 and Office 97 Pro. She cannot open the .xls file from explorer, gets error message "cannot find path." But if she runs Excel, she can find and open the file from within Excel.

I haven't got over there to look yet and was wondering if I could get some possible problems to look for.

Sounds like her home PC simply has the file association for Excel screwed up. You can fix this by going into Explorer and bringing up the menu Tools\Folder Options\File Types and editing the Microsoft Excel file types to point to the install directory for Excel.
