And another thing. The first time i installed W2K, i looked at the IRQs ... the Matrox, the Sound card AND the HPT366 were all on IRQ 11??!?! Was that normal? Windows didnt report any conflicts or something. Another thing i noticed is that when i tried to change their IRQ in Windows, coz it didnt seem right, i couldnt ... was i supposed to set their IRQs in the Bios???

Sheesh.. The IRQ thing is quite normal. Search the MURC forums, it has been discussed here a million times.
The HPT366 not working reliably is also quite normal unfortunately. If I were you, I'd just forget about it and go back to using the onboard ATA33. Well, that's exactly what I did after a long, unsuccessful battle with their terrible drivers. And I don't miss it the slightest. In fact I would love to completely get rid of the stupid thing and eliminate the HPT crap entirely from the boot process.
Hey hey ! Calm down, will you? It`s not like i`m lazy or dont want to read or anything, i just thought it MAY have something to do with the problems i`m having ...

Success! Finally, W2K`s been running stable for the last couple of days, no probs with the newest 1.25.2 HPT366 Drivers. Thank god. One strange thing i`ve noticed though. Before complete shutdow ( still in Windows ), the HDD spins up & down a couple of times. It`s like it powers down & up while W2K shuts down. Should i be worried?
