regular g400 heatsink? (retail)

Mine suprisingly is not that noisy. I keep the case under my desk and actually the hardrive makes more noise then the fans.

Hunsow - mines does Two extra case fans in my setup even under my desk make a lot of noise (can hear it down the hall...).

The sounds of automatic gunfire, grenades and blood-curdling screams from multiplayer Delta Force drowns it out though

If you can imagne how it would feel like to have some air-jockey in an f-18 do a mach2 flyby at 300 feet altitude over your house, then your pretty close to the sound my system makes when I turn it on....

I think one of the case fans have a really bad bearing. It sound like it could break down anytime soon.

well no noise and i have 1 90mm atx power fan (reversed) 1 80mm front case fan 1 80 mm fan turned in to a card cooler i changed outthe original fan on my aavid heat sink to a 60 mm 5000 rpm fan and a second 60 mm fan was on the v3 2000 but i pulled that so i could just drop it on the g400 when it comes in case temp runs at 27c to 30 no higher. but i live in a basement so it never really gets to hot. (whon cares about radon gas my pc is cool hehehehehehehehe)

ALBPM iv'e thought of painting my case but i havn't becuase i woud have to shut my system down while it dry's althoue if i remove the sides and paint them then do up the top (it also is removeable i could, naw im not that obsesive am i ?...............yes i am.

I am serious about the case painting, just another thing to do to the system. Candy Apple Red metal-flake ! I hear you get better FPS in that color...I have 8 fans in my case..Loud, Why does'nt somone come out with a sound proof case? Or at least Quiet, yea the "Turbo Hush Case" 35 Db's with 10 fans?
Steve has a great setup, you need the Biggest heatsink that will fit with a fan blowing "outside" air across the fins. This beats all those aftermarket ones like tennemax. I have one of those, not enough heatsink. I also think that the fan in the G400's is like the Tennemax, It looks good and will do the job but if you have room you can do better. I plan on a G400 Regular Guy model and am going to clock it silly

I have been looking for a good active cooler for a Pentium 3 shell. The thing is weird...it only has plastic on one side and is bare-arsed on the other. This goofy clip-on heatsink and fan thing seems a little lame.

Is there a damn-good Peltier-style out that one can order here in the Colonies? Particularly in Oregon? I really don't care about cost.

The darn thing gets HOT at 500mhz (not overclocked) with all the other crap in the case....you know, the sheet metal box that spends most of it's time on the other side of the room...

I only have a little 486 CPU fan attached to the top of the heatsink and even after serveral hours of benchmarking the board is only warm to the touch.

My full tower has two side panels (not like the standard inverted U (combined side-top-side setup), both of which are detatchable. Handy.

oh god what did i start.

oh well seems i must clarify a mean the home made cooler card. hehe although i do have a linksys 10/100 pci card and a few other cool toys.(no dam isa cards in any of my systems.)
oh ya how much for that hub/net card. (i mean where did you get it from and how much) or is that another cool beta toy we get to droll over.
