    Matrox G400 supports S3TC Compression?

    Hi!
I have heard that the G400 like the ATI Rage Fury supports S3TC Compression.

    Is this true?

    Regards,

i have read about 10 or so reviews/previews on the g400 and only 1 said that it DID support S3TC....i wish i could remember the URL, but it wasnt a site i'd ever been to before...the more reputable ones...tom's hardware, sharky, thresh, anandtech...none of them mentioned it, so i'm going to assume that one review was mistaken
however, if anyone else has heard that the g400 does have s3tc please post

It almost doesn't need to with its 256bit Dual-Bus. It can throw around such a huge amount of textures that it doesn't need to compress them.

            Steve,

I the compression is just for saving the mem space. As soon as the texture is fetched from the memory for processing it's decompressed.
So the speed of the bus has nothing to do with this thing.

I thought it was compressed across the bus too? Oh well, that's what you get for trusting all you read on this thing called the internet....
