Is there any way to toggle vsync, esp. in Direct 3d on the G400 without using Powerstrip? I ask because I don't want to have to register powerstrip to get it to save my settings, especially when I'm not using it for anything else.

Yes, you can do it via a registry flag. Look at the registry hacks on <A HREF="http://www.murc.ws/">http://matroxusers.com</A>. They have ones for both powerdesk 4 and 5.
