    Win98SE and Power Management and G400 - ?

Seems Win98SE has a nice little "enhancement" - Power Management doesn't work so well. When "turn off monitor" and "turn off hard drive" or "suspend" are enabled, the system needs a warm boot to wake it up.

Question - does the "old" version of Win98 do the same thing with the G400? If not, I'll just stick with it and the updates at MS's web site.

Make sure you don't have ACPI enabled in your BIOS.

If you have a Via chipset try this fix.

Just reinstall the VIA chipset patch on the CD that came with the board.
Installing SE must somehow corrupt the patch. I suspect this will be true for any MB using the VIA chipset
