in 2099 directX is disabled...
OpenGL games should work with NT drivers, Direct 3D games? nah... maybe those few which actually work under winNT.

I use win2k for surf/email/3D anim and win98 for playing and DVD I guess

you are getting your card soon.try to see if you can get it to work.i am going to try the new nt drivers and see if that helps.my main focus is that i run a duel 583 setup and want
to play Q3 with smp enabled

Same here, Dual p3 450@587Mhz. I've heard ugly rumors claiming that SMP in Quake3 don't work in windows 2000, just in winNT. That's very wierd I think!

You betcha I'll hammer quite good on those win2k drivers...

W2K RC2 is going to be out in the next couple weeks. Give that a try. Still no native g400 drivers yet which only leds me to speculate that they suck too bad to put in yet.

Hi,

SMP works fine with Q3 in Win2k, I managed a 15fps increase with my TNT2 card when going from single processor to duel.

Celery 450, 128mb, Diamond 770 (not ultra), Win98

Normal Settings 47fps

Duel Celery 550, 256mb, Diamond 770 (not ultra), Win2k

Normal Settings 64fps


OK, ok so the chips are faster and it has more ram but that wouldn't cause that sort of increase. I'm conviced that the 2nd processor is kicking in.

Now if only we could get OGL working undwe Win2k, the G400Max would kick some serious butt.
