Anyone have exper. /w Matrox NICs?

I will need a NIC soon & saw them for $19 at the Matrox store when I ordered my MAX.
    Any comments?
    Thanks in advance.

They look decent enough. Nics are all pretty much the same in that price range. I did notice on the support page that there's no Linux drivers available. Something to keep in mind if you ever go over to the other side

I would be interested as well, seems like a good price too.

                  Hi Chuck,

The things to look for in a NIC is what Matrox is offering with the FASTNIC 10/100, like...

                  -Plug and play
                  -Full duplex
                  -Bus mastering
-Auto sensing (though you might have to disable that feature depending on the HUB or Swithc your connecting to)
                  -Full support of IEEE 802.3, ISO/IEC 8802-3

So I would say go for it, for $20 you can't go wrong

BTW: the Company my friend works for "National Grocers" are using Matrox networking hardware including NICS/HUBs and Sitches with no problems so I guess there OK eh
Also if you do require Linux support you may want to contact Matrox to see if there card is NE2000 complient so you can use generic drivers or what ever.

                  Regards,
                  Elie
