BC, like you I was often tempted to believe the problem was cured. Sometimes everything worked well for hours...

BC, if you're going for RMA, it may serve a purpose to get your card sent to Haig instead of the online store... Not sure if Matrox will be able to handle such a 'complex' procedure though...

Ok, my RMA is now in process. The replacement MAX should be here Wednesday, Sep 22 (I'm doing a cross ship so I can get the new board and test before shipping the old one back). I have to say that the people at the Online Store Customer Service department were very good.

That's a very decent arrangement. Guess we'll know by Wednesday then...

Have you tried to track the package?

I have a Celeron 466 on an ABit BX6r2 and I have problems with the G400. If I disable BusMastering it is fine, but nothing OpenGL will work. From the reading I have done, it seems the problem revolves around my Sound Blaster PCI512 which is basically a SB Live Value. Anyone else running in this configuration. BTW: I have NO SCSI adapters and have turned off USB support. Only other adapter I have is an Intel Etherexpress at IRQ 9. Also, I have the SB in slot 3.

I did not get a tracking number from the Matrox Store. UPS should be here by 3PM or so today (am expecting multiple packages today).

I've had this similar problem on 2 seperate video cards now, on both a abit bh6 and a bx6r2 AGP 1x fixes it. My friend who has the same setup runs just fine, I'll try to get his video card or try mine in his system to see what happens (it'll probably break his
Both the G400 MAX's I've tried were Canadian made.

Did the problems only start to happen in DH clone mode???? Looks like there are a few different issues with the bx6r2 boards.

Mine, (knock on wood) works great,... (more knocking on wood).

                              My config...
                              BX6R2, PIII 500, 128 Meg RAM, SB 512, USR Courier modem, , 2 cdroms (1 DVD & 1 RWCD), West Dig 10G hard drive, Win98 -4.10.98, & of course the DH G400 non max, & 1 19" CTX monitor. Oh yah- a mouse & keyboard.

I did have a 366 celeron at 457 MHz. That also ran fine.

I got the replacement board today. It is running in AGP2X just fine for at least the last 3 hours. The old board would fail within minutes. The difference? This board was made in Ireland, the former board in Canada. Also, this board has 3 wires leading from heatsink/fan to the power connector. The old board had two. Beyond that I don't see any obvious differences. I'm going to reserve judgement whether the problem is really fixed for a few days, but initial indications are positive ...
