Hate to say this...but I am about ready to send my card back...bought it a couple of weeks ago with the idea that the card rockz...with the 5.30 drivers...Well, as usual...it seems that these damn companies that we spend all this hard earned dough at can't EVER do WHAT THEY SAY!!!
I have about had it with this crap...its not that I can't wait another weekend, but with the GeForce, S2000 and the other new one coming out...might as well put my V3 3000, that does play EVERYTHING, including tribes (albeit, not with the Visuals that the Ultras or G400 Max has)...I am sick of taking this crap from these people...how much staff support does is take to post the damn files...
I know I will probably get a bunch of shxx from everyone for saying this...but its getting really OLD...

The FTP is still alive but no 5.30, It's only 2:30pm in Montreal so few hours yet to go...Hope they didn't bugger off and hit the LCBO early...

G400 drivers are released: I spend the weekend reinstalling Win98 from the ground up, then go play HL for hours on end.

G400 drivers are not released: I spend the weekend reliving my Atari 8-bit days by building a cable to transfer Omnitrend's Universe from the 5.25" disks it's on now to my PC via a 1050-2-PC cable and a 1050 disk drive, then play it via an Atari 8-bit emulator.

From that perspective, no new drivers doesn't sound so bad... :-)

Come on guys. Now that Matrox is showing another attitude (beta icd released, 5.25 drivers presto, giving dates when they are going to release drivers) why start whinning like crazy when there is just a *possibility* that they will only post the drivers after the weekend? Maybe you prefer the old "it´s done when it´s done".

Do you know how many of us suffered through much worce with our G200s. As it is you have a great card, so you MIGHT have to wait a little longer for a few more frames per second.

Heh. If it was only a "few" frames per second difference, no one would care (well, ok, if it fixes HL texture corruption, I'll care).

Thing is, benchmarks are showing a 20 to 40% increase in frame rate.

Now the Atari 800 - there was a computer with some graphics - GTIA, baby! 320x192x2 colors (including the background), and display lists, so you could mix and match display modes. 1.79 Mhz of pure computing power, complete with NTSC (or PAL) standard output, and 48K of RAM. Woo hoo! That machine was awesome! Remember Zork? How about Pitfall? And M.U.L.E. !

We should probably start realizing that since it is just about 3 in Downtown Canada and it's Thanksgiving Weekend I highly doubt someone is staying late to make sure the drivers are posted. If we haven't seen them by now, I doubt there going to post them at 5 and then go home.
