Unable to change from 16bit to 32bit color

I currently have my desktop set to 1152x864@16bit color. When I select 32 bit color under color palette, I get the prompt to change to 32bit color but nothing happens. I remain at 16bit. I currently am using the latest PD and bios.

Okay. What card do you have and therefore which drivers.
Have you tried uninstalling them and reinstalling?
System specs?

Sorry about missing info.
I have a G400 SH, 32meg and have re-installed the latest Power Desk. (PD 5.30.007). Other then this problem, my G400 rocks.
