Why is Matrox the lagger in 3Dnow support?

I can remember when i had my G200, matrox I believe at that time was the first card maker to have 3dnow support in their drivers. And now I have been told that the g400 drivers have hardly any at all. Why is that? Is more planned? Jediphoenix

I don't know...I am running the G400 Max on my Athlon 650 and the thing screams...getting something like 71 FSP in Q3 at 1028/768...
And the 5.30/TurboGL drivers were specifically for the P3/K7's so, since the K7 runs 3D NOw 2, It would seem like Matrox has 3D Now support, now...

The best advantage of 3DNow! comes when software developers incorporate support for it in their applications. Driver implimentation of it has the lowest advantage. Matrox drivers do have 3DNow! support and it is getting better. When we finally get the fully optimized DX7 drivers that's when we will really see a big difference since DX7 fully support 3DNow!.

The only real boost I've seen from 3D-Now! is in companies using it in their OGL drivers.
