1. "a few weeks" - that's firmer than the standard "when it's done" that we're use to.

2. raduffy is the guy at id software (you know, the quake guys) who's making the level editor, and for some reason the current intel drivers do not work at a 16bpp desktop, so moving up to 24 or 32 seems to fix it for some reason
