Are you trying to say that the Refresh Frequency settings at Display Properties->Advanced->[Monitor] do not work?

no, it works, i can change refresh freq setting manually there, but that's not what i'm really looking for..
when i used win98 & its g400 driver/pdesk, i can choose a setting/configuration (refresh rate and screen size&position for each resolution) based on my monitor (from disp prop->settings->advanced..i forgot which tab though) .. but that tab is not there in win2000..i'm wondering if it's placed or those settings can be set somewhere else ..
      thanks

Ah, I see. In that case the answer is no - advanced monitor settings have not been implemented yet.
