I have just tried on my 3rd PC (Win98SE, Pioneer DVD 6X, G200) sharing its DVD drive and trying playing it again - it works fine!
One thing I did notice is that when the win2k (Toshiba 8x DVD) shared the DVD, the light flickered every now and then (once a second or so) but on the win98 dvd sharing PC, the DVD access light is almost constantly on. Just goes to show that win2k's disk access is faster / better cached.
