Is it my monitor or my G400max?????

I have been a happy g400 owner for about a year, and have never had any serious problems, now a very irritating and weird problem has arisen.

I have an older 15" monitor (Smile CA-1506), and a g400MAX, recently I started having some weird problems, the image on my monitor is resizing itself horizontally about 2-10 mm every now and then, after which it returns to it original size. This happens regardless of what I use my system for (games/boring work)

Do you think it is the monitor that is nearing the end of its life or is it my g400??

    Thanks in advance
    Grego aka Jesper

Same thing happened to me with my old IBM 15"
it died a couple of months after. I think I took it to too many lan parties. It is the monitor.

I have a vaguely similar problem with an old IBM monitor I use as a second monitor for a DualHead clone.. like the top and bottom 10% of my display area are not visible on the 2nd monitor at 640x480. (the highest this monitor is capable of.. kinda cramped already without this silliness I'd say) The left/right sides have a pretty good sized black border too.
Oddly when I use this monitor with a different video card/computer, it works fine.

Thanks for the replies,I have begun looking for a new monitor, and I will also ask the question of the salespeople.

Anyway I have had my eyes set on a Sony 17" for some time...

            Go for the Sony G400
It's a 19" but it should come with every Matrox G400 (Or maybe the other way around ?)

A quick cure could be to open up your monitor's casing (after unplugging from powersupply !) and use an air stream to get rid of that vast amount of dust !!!

Sometimes those cause problems as you described.
