ME and shut down
I am using 6.04 with a G400. In ME the "It's safe to shut down Windows" does NOT appear. If I switch to VGA the message comes up again. Any way to fix this?

Looks like you got a chipset on your motherboard that you did not patch... If you have a VIA chipset, then you the 4 in 1...
By the way, what happens exactly? You do not get the message, but does it still shutdown or it simply hangs? -

I get the same thing here, but doesn't hang. Just shuts down before a display is shown.

I want it to do that. That is the whole point of having ATX. I was just commenting that the shutdown screen is no longer there.

I don't suppose you all have sblive?
Mine did this after installing the newest "M" drivers and stopped when I reinstalled sblive drivers....go figure

A little thing for all the people saying that the "shutdown screen" is no longer there, but their PCs shut down perfectly well on their own: I have the same thing happening here, sometimes it takes a bit longer than other times, but it shuts down anyway. With an ATX machine, why would you want to see the shutdown screen? If everything shuts down as it's supposed to do, why worry

I had the same problem (with a SB Live!) I had to enable 'reset UMDB' or something along those lines in the Bios. It clears all the mem base addresses I think. Use to work fine on a P3 450, but once I stuck a 750 in it all went to shit.
I cant remember the propper name for that Bios setting, but you set it to enabled, and next time you boot it goes back to disabled.
