New Matrox DVD player w/ DVD Genie?

For those of you who have a G450 and are using the W2K-compatible Matrox DVD player: can the player work with DVD Genie? Or is there no way to reset the region beyond 5 times? If the new player is like Cinemaster 2000, I suspect DVD Genie won't reset the region, which would be a major bummer.

    Thanks.

Windows 2000 relies on the DVD drive itself for region encoding. If your DVD player is not region locked, then DVD Genie works fine (I use it with PowerDVD.) Check this page for information:

If your drive is not region locked, then you're all set. If it is locked, and you can download a firmware hack, then life is good.

I don't think the new player is available. I just read that it was being released with the G450.

When I finally got Cinemaster working with W2K, DVD Genie failed to change the region on a region-free drive. That's why I figured the new Matrox DVD player would pose the same problem. Is this not the case?

Did you use the latest DVDgenie? Afaik Cinemaster 2000 uses the Windows-Region.

Latest version of dvdgenie can be found at http://www.inmatrix.com
