I've been reading your post about your problems with a dead Bios and I don't know if the above value is the one you need.

SUBSYS_ID can be read with this utility http://grafi.ii.pw.edu.pl/gbm/matrox/MXINFO.EXE

        in the first screen!

I would to know SUBSYS_ID value of a G400MAX board not of a "SIMPLE" G400!

Please can someone that have G400MAX board tell me it?

        IT S A ESADECIMAL VALUE!

For example i know that SUBSYS_ID for Millennium G200 AGP is FF03 but i don t know G400MAX one!

PLEASE TELL ME IT because i can t install the drivers!

Seems 2 b some confusion because my G400Max says 0x2179 when using MXINFO.

Please check your MAX model (401 ,402, 403?) in the second screen of MXINFO!

In the second screen it says : Card Version 106.
BUT in the first screen it says G400 AGP ( Toucan ) rev.03

BTW my G400 MAX uses SGRAM....don't know if there is a difference between SGRAM and SDRAM ones.

MXINFO only reads the BIOS PINS structure (if I'm not mistaken). Windows identifies cards via the PCI configuration registers, not the BIOS. You'd think they'd be the same, but the latter can, e.g., be strapped and have no relationship to the former.

If you check Matrox's own inf files in their driver packs, 0x217D is reserved for the "G400 DualHead Max", while 0x2179 is reserved to the "G400 DualHead".

Put another way, 0x217D is how Matrox identifies the Max as a Max to Windows.

Actually MXINFO sucks the information from PCI config registers, PInS and several other locations in BIOS, including SUBSYS_ID and SUBSYS_VID.
