    G450 overlay to clipboard support

I am not a Matrox user, but I may become one if someone can answer this question. Does the Matrox Millennium G450 support DirectDraw overlay to the clipboard?

My Rendition V2200 does, enabling me to capture the output from my FlyVideo capture card to the clipboard by pressing Print-Screen. However, the NVIDIA Riva TNT M64 I bought does not. Instead it always produces a bright pink box where the overlayed image should be. If I switch it to preview mode, of course it works then, but it uses too much CPU time.

So is the G450 to the answer to my prayers? It has so many features I would be surprised if it couldn't do this. I figured this would be the best place to ask.

    Cheers,
    Suave.

no, the part od the screenshot where the video should have appeared just remains black (tested on a G400 in WIn2k with the latest drivers).

Would that be the same as hitting print screen and then pasting onto Wordpad? If so, mine works on a G400MAX with the 6.21.003 drivers dated 22dec00 under WIn98SE.

Some screenshot applications can't capture the overlay.

However, simply use print-screen or alt-print-screen and paste it in your graphics app. (print-screen is handled by windows itself, I recon they know how to grab an overlay as wel )

Thanks for all the replies you chaps. Interesting results - 1 worked, 2 didn't. I'll give Hypersnap a go on my Riva TNT and let you know the result.

I found a guy with the same Rendition V2200 card as me but with a DV Raptor capture card and his screenshots turned out black. So apparently both the video card and capture card have to support for it. Perhaps I should just get a Matrox Marvel and be done with it
