G450 and Windows 2000 Pro? A good go?

Just got a copy of Windoes 2000 Proffesional. Does the G450 have lowered gaming performance(compared to 6.50) with the released drivers for that OS?

The performance in win2k is comparable to win98.

I think I have read some benchmarks and it was even faster then in Win9x.

I'm sure it is due to OS overhead. MS OSes get clunkier every generation and they assume that hardware advances more than make up for their sloppy code. That goes for a lot of game code too :-(
