    G400 just *died* (i think.....help....)

    Here's what happened..

I'm just using my computer (ie: windows, basic stuff, no 3d or other intensive apps). Computer freezes. crap. it's a hard freeze. restart computer. PC Speaker: beeeeeeeeeeeeeep beep beep. no video.

From what i know this means a dead video card. What is the warranty on Matrox Products against failure? It didn't overheat; was never overclocked, was treated with the best of care, etc. Anyone?

If re-seating doesn't work, then try our bios recovery utility. You can get this from our utility page off of our main driver page.

If that doesn't help, then either email us or call us to get your rma process started.

(i don't want to use the BIOS reflasher without official Matrox direction to do so b/c i don't feel like jeopardizing the warranty on my favorite component )

        thanks,
        nebia

You just got "official Matrox direction" when Haig suggested you try the recover utility. And not to worry, you will not void your warranty by using it.

Well, I just got back from the bar. I bought a beer and told the bar tender to put it on nebia's tab and he told me "That will be 2.50 CASH PLEASE!".

Maybe you can straighten that situation out

Hi nebia! The bad thing about buying a round for everyone in this (and that) thread is that neither of the two threads are locked
(Just like you're in the pub and shout "the drinks are on me", and suddenly, from nowhere, appear tons of people that weren't there before)...
