G400MAX + RRG + MatroxDvD = no go

Hey all, long time no see-
Anyways, i cant get the MatroxDVD software to install on my multimedia system.

Im running the latest G400 + RRG drivers and Win2k Pro.
The install off the orginal CD just refuses to start. It goes to 100% on preparing the install shield, then freezes, using 99% cpu...

that's why they made a new version of the DVD player available through shop@matrox

why a different copy? Becuase it's a different player version. Just like when you get Windows 98, you don't get Windows 2000 for free when it's released.
