Is this G550 DOA?

Just got a G550 and it seems to be DOA. Tried it in two different systems, and it won't past the POST. The two systems - a BX and an 815 - are otherwise OK, and work fine with the G400 and G450.

I have installed and booted with a PCI GF2 card just to see what's up, and though PCIspy and Windows can see the G550, Matrox's drivers won't install (no Matrox device detected).

Tried to refresh the BIOS, but that's a no-go also: both PBiosWin and UBiosDos fail with the error message "Unable to get EEPROM information".

Ideas anyone?

Hrrmmm, sounds like you may be suffering from "PowerBiosStrip" fever.

Does Matrox even have a recovery utility for the 550 yet?

If not, I wouldn't suggest using that program on it until that time
