    computer doesn't do cold startups?

I remember there was something like this a real long time ago. Except i'm using WinXP final now.

Basically when I shut down completely, i can never start the computer up the next day right after i hit the power switch. I have to press reset and then the computer starts up correctly.

I'm running a really old asus k7m with a Athlon 850 slot-a and a Matrox G400 DH vanilla. Everything has it's own IRQ. No ACPI, just standard PC. (don't know how to swithc it to ACPI)

anyone remember this problem and can help?

    Thanks
