Alpha Blending performance in XP

Hi all. Just wondering if the alpha blending performance in the XP shell is going to be improved, as XPBench returns really slow performance. It´s noticeable even without benchmarking. Otherwise, my trusty G400 is working fine (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).

Can the drivers be optimized to further accelerate this function?

I'm pretty sure that XPBench is expecting a hardware implementation, which Matrox cards don't have.
