Find the uninstaller for the nVidia cards if there is no software listed in Add/remove programs, chances are you have some conflicting drivers. nVidia drivers are notorious for not playing nice unless they are completely cleaned out.

OH and I see you said "hardware list". I don't mean DEVICE MANAGER, I mean ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. There is a difference, and drivers for XP are supposed to come with uninstallers that SHOULD be available in the add/remove programs interface.

I have this motherboard with a Radeon and have nothing but hell with it; I'm sure there is a design fault in some of the earlier revisions. I also have had problems with lock ups whilst in games etc. If you cant get any luck from us then try the following

Hey Jorden, go **** yourself with that cute little penguin.

I haven't been posting very often here and there has been very little action in the Hardware forum to offer help anyhow, so shove it.

              Oh retarded one.

First time since ages I saw a thread grow faster than I could type "Hi there" and it would be 3 or more posts bigger already.
I read the first 6 posts and thought agpx1, mtstu, uninstall drivers, but you were way ahead already.

I just got a question: does WinXp run any good with 128Mb RAM? Doesn't it need at least 256Mb?

Yes, it seems to alright with 128 MB, but I suggest at least 256.

                      it's akin to running win98 on 64.

The only other thing I would look at is the possibility of a more powerfull PSU. 250W, with that mobo might be a little too low. Yet, I don't know.

                          pretty good.
unless you wanna run LOTS of hardcore programs at once.
but xp by itself, uses i think around 50 or 60 mb of ram.
and the thing is, when my computer restarts, it says there was aproblem caused by the DRIVER fot the g400 card.
i tried 1x agp, no luck. for those of you familiar with final reality, in the robot or the city scene, it runs for 3 seconds, then freezes. i don't know what exactly is going on!

but i was running my geforce 256 ddr on there, overclocked, 50 percent. had a fan too. that uses up a LOT more power than this card. there is a problem with the driver. i was wondering if anyone else h ad the problem, and had a solution to it.

Nope, there is no issue with FR, XP, and the G400.

It seems there is something amiss in your system. What timings are your running your memory at (look in the Bios).

Also are you running the latest bios for that motherboard? I recall some serious issues with ACPI and that board, but I believe there was a BIOS update to solve the issue.

Why did you choose to put in a G400 then? A GF 256 DDR doesn't use that much more power than a G400.
