    Very sad ady!

It's a very sad day for me,

My new card has been ordered and will arrive in a weeks time.......................GeForce4 Ti4400 128Mb TV out.

Yep I always said I would never do it but I see myself forced (no pun intended) by maistream to run the current games and now that EQ2 req min GF3 hmmmmm what can I say.

I will use my Matrox G400MAX in second M/C but sadly the end is near

I cant wait nor can afford then next Gen Matrox.

Whoops, that was a mistake, me thinks. I bet it will not be nearly as expensive as you assume.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

At the very least, the P will probably force some downward pricing pressure on the GF4s et.al..

they usually go for around 240~250$,which isn't too bad for a 128 meg card, all things considered.

ANT...Will there be a version of parhelia at that price range?...And if there is,will it significantly outperform a 4400 to be worth the wait....

                Ant,

I'm in Australia so what ever the price is double it

I paid $570 which I didn't think was too bad. I paid around $475 for my Matrox 2 years ago.

I love the Matrox products but I am worried by the time it's released her in OZ the price will be through the roof.

Will wait and see what happends. If the Next Gen Matrox card rocks and is in my price range well there is always a friend who will buy a GF4

I've only seen a very well informed rumour on prices that mentioned a 64MB Parhelia in the region of $300. Even the cheapest Parhelia will outperform anything around at present if everything is to believed. I'd presume it will be nViidias next generation GPU that will provide the competition for Parhelia not its current offerings. I don't think there will be any huge difference in performance over the Parhelia product range. Instead what you will see is of course more memory but the Pro boards will have added funtionality rather than raw performance to fit the needs of the 3D/CAD professionals they will be targetted at.

Yeah, guys. I used to live in Adelaide, and my G400 16mb dual was +$410 trade. It hurts, but at least its a card you can keep for a long time.

I got my matrox G400 16meg single head for $250 AU, which was cheaper than a TNT2 at the time

But matrox cards are very expensive here.

The $570 AUD for a GF4-4400 is equivalent to around £211.94 GBP which is still around £45 GBP CHEAPER than a good UK price.

I dunno what the Aussies are thinking but ALL the prices quoted here are cheaper than equivalent UK ones but probably not as cheap as USD's. btw: I was born just outside Sydney so I'm not slating the me fellow countrymen!

/me waits for another few days before any rash decisions My Max has been out of date for 12 months, another couple wont make a lot of difference!
                            Cheers, Reckless

Why don't you simply refuse to recieve the packet when it arrives ? Then it will "return to sender" and your problem will be solved.
Unless of course you paid for it on-line.

You could alway ask if you could return it .. they might charge a small fee, but that beats having a card you not really want.
