0.13u Process?

I've got my soldering iron in my hand and a box full of components, I've got Matrox' whitepapers so who wants a 0.13 chip?

Damn though, 0.13 inches is gonna be tight! I might treat myself and buy a new soldering iron tip.

It's gonna take me a good couple of hours per chip though, so don't all be asking for one at the same time!

Some late-night calculations, so pardon me if this goes wrong...

1 micron = 10^-6 meters
0.15 microns = 0,00000015 meters

1 inch = 2,54 centimeters
0.13 * 2,54 centimeters = 0,3302 centimeters = 0,003302 meters

0,003302 / 0,00000015 = 22013,333..

So the traces with your process would be only a little over 22000 times wider than with Matrox's current process.

If we suppose that Parhelia's die would have a size of, say, 3 x 3 centimeters and the proportions would stay the same then your die would be...

I ran out of components building my first one... I'll pop down my local chippy and see if they can help me.

Speed of light = 300,000,000 metres per second, and my chip's gonna be 660 metres wide, by 660 metres tall, then the longest a signal might travel to reach from one corner to the other is ~934 metres, so if I say 1000 metres to be sure. Therefore, the clock speed could be approaching 1/(1000/300000000) = 300000Hz? Pah! I spit on your 20kHz, it only takes 3.33x10^-6second for light to travel across my chip!
