Does the reef demo run with a GF4 , or did
Matrox use some lame protection to avoid that?

Perhaps it even runs faster with a GF4 ... :-]

As the GF4 can't do hardware displacement mapping, I would be very surpriced if the demo run on a GF4.

Direct X implements all functionality in software as well, so it would run, but probably very jerky. Still, it's good enough for some screenshots.
