Well of course it depends a bit on how you define dept I guess I never said I had spent that money...all of it is on high interest accounts gathering interest waiting for me to buy an appartment or house...
Though that explains my lack of everyday spending money, and why I've considered buying a Parhelia the last 5 months

I would spent some more time in considering as I wouldn't call the P rockstable. The new .net-approach killed some of the nicest features I had on the old pdesk. I really hope that it gets better rsn ;-)

Well, one semester (4 mons.) of an Undergraduate Degree program costs about $2,500.00 CAD. That's just the cost for the courses and doesn't include books, housing, food and other course related materials.

German studying fees don't cover food, housing, books, and the xerox, too, but they usually include a student's ticket for public transport, and the Mensa is quite cheap.

You CAN get a cheap room, too, sometimes even with high speed net access, if you manage to get in, which is not always easy.

You can use the library for free, of course.

And you get some money from the state to help you out (But if your parents are rich, you will get less or nithing, but your parents MUST provide you with money and food/shelter - or money for it - until you have finished studying.. or turn 27 or something ).

How bout I'm payin 30-35 grand (USD) a year for my grad school.

And the only financial aid this school offers is loans.

Think of how much you'd have to pay if you went to a good school!

The US system is backwards......students shouldn't have to have expenses at the forefront......
