I just found this on GamersDepot

GD: In the press release, it said that both 64MB and 256MB versions of Parhelia would be released. Do you have an ETA or expected pricing for these yet?

Kamran/Matrox
"While I can't give any specifics on these products, I will say that you can expect to see them this summer. Believe it or not the 64MB board will be less expensive than the 128MB board, and the 256MB board will be more expensive J Both cards will bring the entire feature set of the Parhelia to the market including TripleHead Windows and Surround Gaming."

heh flashback: Socket 423... same situation...

i feel sorry for those who brought P128 though. It also seems like the chip itself is a bit "defective". And it also seems like the new P under 0.13 micron fab will give some more OC potential. BTW have anyone here burnt up a P due to OCing? Just wondering

I hope there will be some news soon™. If it turns out they are releasing a better product, I'll pay the 15% restocking fee.

Hey Matrox! Make an announcement before November 1. PLEASE!!!
Waiting on tech support...

Did they(GD guys) ask that Matrox guy whether the 128MB version will change its price? It was predictable that 64MB will be less and 256MB will be more expensive than that, but still...

A good point... What will the price drop for the P128 be? If it isnt any new spec or hardware fix in P256 I'll go for the P128 if the price is much lower then now.

That GD interview is almost 4 months old... They probably have changed their plans since it was made.

Rimfaxe: I was thinking on the same. Or maybe "another vendor's" card 'till P2 arrives...

drslump,

That was dated June 28th. Summer is pretty much long since over and neither card has been announced.

Yeah, but in this case it's made worse by the image quality problems the P128 has. If it is a hardware problem, hopefully Matrox will at least replace the defective boards with fixed ones.
