Didn't UMC and AMD get out of bed together, and go their separate ways. DO Matrox chips get manufactured by UMC?

what would it change? it's not up to the ones than _make_ the chips to make sure they're bug-free...

UMC is the n° 2 foundry (of the whole human universe!). Give them credit, they wouldn't be there if thy were that bad...

          Contrary to popular belief, no.
UMC currently does the packaging, but they do not fab the silicon.

Who fabs the silicon? Or is that one of those questions that doesn't get answered.

Was quite shocked to find out my GF3 didn't do dual display even though there is a CRT and a DVI connector on the board, bought in aug 2002, A g400 did it in 1999. Serves me right.
