                    I don't think that's because of the speed of the machine, it's due to not having a ergonomic keyboard and the fact that linux doesn't crash anywhere near as often as Windows does. (granted Windows2k and XP don't crash very often, but that's not to say the apps themselves don't.)

                        While personally I can't agree more. Just love Emacs myself, though it's a huge program and you can use it for everything. But Byock hated vi as well, until he got used to it, now he loves it. Go figure.

                            Emacs is nice, but it is just too heavy for editing some text files. And the shortcuts hurt my hands
